Music lover since early childhood, he began to study it at the age of 5. Soon after, he chanced on a partner for life: an electric guitar. Throughout his musical career he has helped formed many rock and punk bands. Until one day, when he discovered electronic music, which became his new passion. After 10 committed and productive years of performing and producing (under his alias Madmax and Le Max), it was expected that he finally mixed his two main obsessions and bear his biggest project so far: Chill’em all.
Chill’em all bites hard. With its sharp guitars, its sensual grooves and rhythms cleverly mixed, this music will excite your senses. Champion is a real and gifted artist. By combining the exquisite melody of guitars and the familiar rhythms of techno, he has created an inspiring sound masterpiece, unlike anything else on the market. Chill’em all is for everyone’s taste and ears. It stages two types of live performances with unique sounds: Champion and The Laptop; or, accompanied by four guitar players, one bass player, singer Betty Bonifassi and vj’s . Once again, he acts as a conductor, but also a great performer, leading his creations to zenith.
Champion’s abilities are undeniable. After performing live in France, Finland, Germany, Canada as well as performing at the 2004 Academy Awards with longtime partner Benoit Charest and Betty Bonifasi supporting the film Les Triplets De Belleville which was nominated for best soundtrack.
For the laptop as well as the full band performances Champion uses Ableton Live with midi controller Evolution UC-33 which is the perfect combination.
